Like many finance professionals, I started with big ambitions but no clear path. Coming from a tier-2 Italian university, I faced rejection after rejection, struggling to land even an interview in London’s competitive finance market. Determined to succeed, I dedicated myself to mastering essential job search skills: networking, crafting standout applications, and accessing the hidden job market. After relentless effort, I secured my first role at BNP Paribas, launching my finance career.

Navigating Career Pivots and

Over the next decade, I worked at FTSE 100 companies like Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and International Airlines Group, leading major projects like the Ferrari IPO and managing multi-billion-pound deals. But despite these accomplishments, I often felt unfulfilled.
Long hours, misaligned roles, and high-pressure environments left me questioning my career path. I pivoted across roles in corporate finance, structured finance, treasury, and M&A, each time learning how to align my work with my goals and values.

By 30, my career looked impressive on paper, but I was struggling behind the scenes. A toxic work environment led to burnout, panic attacks, and crippling impostor syndrome. I felt like I was chasing someone else’s definition of success.
Burnout forced me to reevaluate everything. I had to face unemployment, lack of confidence and a quite frustrating job search process. Eventually, I pivoted from Structured Finance to Investor Relations. This shift restored my confidence and clarity and prepared me for my biggest leap yet.
